Lang, the State Premier, expresses his determination t-o see the Legislative Council abolished. It is probable that ho ~ will approach the Governor during tho recess regarding more appointments to tho Council. The feeling in political circles is that tho Governor will not bo a party to making additional appointments. Referring to tho use of the police to search for tho missing member of tho Legislative Council, who subsequently turned up safely, Air Lang said that when it was discovered ho liad left his hotel in tho morning and did not return, his friends became alarmed, all asserting that unless lie bad met with an accident his vote for tho Government was certain. Foul play was even suggested in view of the importance of tho issue at stake. It was the duty of tho police to find citizens who disappeared in suspicious circumstances. Surely there could be no more suspicious circumstances than tho disappearance of a legislator on tho eve of an important division.—Press Association. STATE GOVERNORS. AIORE DISCRETION WANTED.
