CONVICTION AT NAPIER. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Jan. 25. Tho Magistrate gave reserved judgment at tho Police Court in the case in which the licensee of tho Caledonian Hotel was charged with allowing liquor, though purchased before closing hours, to be consumed on tho premises after hours. Tho alleged offence took place when the Napier Law Society held its annual dinner on tho premises. His Worship held that the licensee was responsible lor a breach of the Act though the certificate gavo tho Law Society the exclusive use of the room for tho night.
