NOTED AUTHORITY’S DEATH. FORMER CONTROVERSY RECALLED. Received January 23, 9.15 a.m. LONDON, Jnn. 22. The death has occurred of Doctor Robert Bell, the noted cancor authority. Doctor Bell’s death recalls the conflict with high authorities on cancer treatment which led to his suing the British Medical Council in 1912 for an article in tlio Journal entitled: “Cancer, Credulity and Quackery.” He was awarded £2OOO damages.—A. and N.Z. cable. Dr. Robert Bell, who was 81 years of age, was vice-president of the International Cancer Research Society and superintendent of Cancer Research Battersea Hospital. He had a notable career and was the author of several medical works, including “Cancer and Treatment without Operation,” and “Health at its best Without Cancer.’ ’
