GALLANT GENTLEMAN.

HIS LIFE FOll OTHERS. LONDON, Jan. 10 The story of a “very gallant gentleman” has been told by the crew of a trawlor which was wrecked on a sandbank near Aberdeen. Huge waves swept the trawler’s deck, forcing five men to climb into the rigging. The remainder took refuge in the wheel-house, but Nicol Buchanan, the chief engineer, realising that there were too many in the wheel-house for safety, dashed out, with the intention of climbing into the rigging. A gigantic wave, however, swept him overboard. The remainder of the crew was saved.
