SOVIET THANKED.

“LET’S FIGHT TOGETHER.”

RED TALK IN CANTON

HONGKONG, Jan. 10. General Chiang Ivai Shi was welcomed on returning to Canton after his victorious campaign against tho forces of tho anti-lled General Chenc Hiung Ming.

Speaking at a dinner given by the Canton Government, tho General claimed that tho Kuomintang, -which is now holding its second annual congress at Canton, was the only party capable of unifying China. Ho was confident that tho party would overthrow militarism and Imperialism in China.

Ho paid a tribute to tho great help rendered by their Russian comrades, said: "If wo can imitate them as far as order and organisation aro concerned our troops will be able to compete with tho Red army, and Canton could bo compared to Moscow.”

Tho Kuomintang Congress resolved to present M. Borodin, tho Soviet representative at Canton, with a silver loving cup, with the Chinese inscription “Let Us Fight Together.” ’

Tho Kuomintang is tho oldest, and, perhaps, tho only political organisation in China. It has a nation-wide membership, a political bureau and a definitely stated programmo. Dr Sun Yat-sen was a prominent member of tho organisation.
