OPENING GAMES YESTERDAY. The Wellington provincial tennis championship tournament was commenced. yesterday at Miramar in unusually hot weather and with a complete absence of wind. Details of the championship games played are as follow:

Martin in the championship doubles he figured in another win, over Person and Williams, 6 —o, 6 —l, and also had successes in the handicaps.
