TRAGEDY ON STEAMER.
ROCKET EXPLODES. LONDON, Jan. 12 The premature explosion of a rocket, in tho presence of the entire ship’s company, wlvo were celebrating tho New Year, killed tho purser of tho Imperial Direct Line’s steamer Benin (4352 tons), which was anchored at Sekondi, West Africa. Tho second and third officers and the wireless operator were seriously injured. All were admitted to hospital.
