83 DEGREES RECORDED. Palmerston North "t last appears „o have struck summer weather, and of recent days the heat has been sweltering and almost oppressive. Early this afternoon tho thermometer was reading 83 degrees, tho highest temperature experienced so far this year. WEATHER FORECAST. ELECTRICAL "DISTURBANCES. Tho Government meteorologist telegraphed to-day:—Tho indications aro lor freshening northerly winds, strong to gale. Expect t warm and humid conditions with increasing haze and cloudiness for an unfavourable change in the w r eather. The indications are for electrical disturbances. The barometer is falling.
