ANGLO-IRAK TREATY.
PARLIAMENTARY APPROVAL. BAGDAD, Jan. 18. The Irak Parliament has approved of the new Anglo-Irak treaty, which is virtually an extension of the former treaty, 58 voting in favour and 20 disaffected members declining to vote. Tho Opposition left the Chamber, it is understood, as a protest against the brief period permitted for the study of the terms of tlve treaty, which were only revealed the previous day. King Feisul, in a speech to tho deputies, said that, although the treaty was nominally for 25 years, many of its terms could be modified when Irak was a member of the League of Nations. —A. and N.Z. cable.
