WIRELESS DEVELOPMENTS
LINKING THE EMPIRE
LONDON, Jan. 7. Mr E. T. Fisk, managing director of Amalgamated Wireless, Ltd., said today that beam wireless research was advancing rapidly, resulting in continual technical improvements, which produced greater efficiency. “I have examined tho progress made fn this direction and also the plants of all stations which are being erected 'in England,” he continued, “and am moro than ever convinced that the beam is the only commerci-ally-sound method for rapid long-dis-tance communication. I am also convinced that beam wireless and telephony, linking all parts of the Empire commercially, will be practicable within five years, with trunk wifeless services between various countries available for individual callers.”
