AMERICAN RUBBER.
NO GOVERNMENT AID. NEW YORK, Jan. 8. President Coolidge has made clear his disapproval of any proposal that Government loans shall be made for tire development of American-controlled rubber plantations. Such a suggestion came from tho president of a largo rubber company before the House of Representatives commerce committee. He proposed Government loans to private corporations for the planting ot largo areas in the Philippines with rubber trees. President Coolidge not only opposes such a policy, but states that lie secs no occasion for Government aid in rubber planting, believing that American manufacturers have adequate funds for tho purpose.— Reuter.
