♦ \ VISIT OF BRITISH TEAW<
The team of British bowlers at present in the Dominion will arrive at Palmerston North from Wanganui on the morning of January 7, and will play the Manawatu Centro here on the afternoon of that day. The following day the visitors will leave for Wellington. So far only the Levin and Shannon Clubs have notified their representatives for the centre teams, M. J. Suhan and J. D. Brown in the case of the former and J. T. Bovis and Gunning in the case of tho latter.
BRITISH TEAM AT ROTORUA. ROTORUA, Dec. 29. The British bowlers were met by Mr F. W. Wilkie, president, and Mr J. Banks at Mamakau, and by other bowlers at Rotorua last evening, and were shown round the town this morning. Great interest was taken in the play in the afternoon, the whole of tho bank area being crowded with spectators. The following are the results, tho names of the British players being placed first: Crawford 13 v. Miller 31. Wright 10 v. Kirkby 31. ' Clarke 19 v. Blencowe 16. Minto 22 v. Pakes 15. Brook 25 v. Wilcox 20. Lawson 19 v. Blake 18. McDougall 19 v. T. Mitchell 16. Malcolm 16 v. Merriman 22. WELLINGTON CENTRE’S TOURNEY. *■ Post-section play in connection with the' Wellington Centre’s annual tourney was held yesterday on the Thorndon" Chib’s green. The first and second rounds and the semi-final were completed, leaving the rinks skipped bv Roberts (Wellington) and Ramsay (jjataitai) to compete in the final. The Terrace End Bowling Club will have two rinks playing at a tournament at Woodville to-morrow. They are: Christensen, Moffatt, Duncalf, Wallace (skip); Proud, Taylor, Snell, Davidson (skip). A pairs tournev will be held at the Palmerston North green to-morrow.
