FIRE AT MORRINSVILLE.
OCCUPANT’S NARROW ESCAPE. MORRINSVILLE, Dec. 30. A four-room farmhouse, occupied by Mr James Corkery, situated on Tahuna road, was totally destroyed by fire last night. Mr Corkery was sleeping in the house alone, his wife being away in Auckland. He was awakened by falling debris, and narrowly escaped in’ his night attire. No furniture was saved. There are insurances on the house of £450 and furniture £IOO.
