RESULT OF JOB CONTROL.
MAHENO TO BE LAID UP. SYDNEY, Dec. 28. After the next trip to Wellington the Maheno will be tied up and replaced by an oil-burning vessel, the Union Steam Ship Company having decided upon this step owing to tho “job control” tactics of the firemen and trimmers having caused continual and costly sailing delays. The company’s action will throw the firemen and trimmers out of work, but other members of tho crow will be re-employed.—Press Association.
