DRAWN GAMENEW ZEALAND v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. CENTURY TO A. RICHARDSON. ADELAIDE, Dec. 29. Ideal weather and an excellent wicket were the conditions for the continuation of play in tho match South Australia' against New Zealand. A. Richardson and Parry resumed tho South Australian innings, the board showing no wickets for 109. Parry had added only five when he jumped out to Blunt, who opened tho bowling, and was well stumped by I/O wry. Tho diminutive batsman had shaped excellently, driving forcefully despite his lack of inches. He made his runs in 70 minutes. Pritchard, tho next man, again failed to get going. When he was 13 Blunt scattered his stumps. V. Richardson jumped out to his first ball, and Lowry did the rest. Tho captain had not scored. Blunt had taken three wickets for 18 runs. Once in the nineties, A. Richardson did not take long to reach his century, two good fours doing it. He had been batting 145 minutes then. Before lunch he was bowled by Blunt. Ho batted excellently, driving powerfully. His innings was without a blemish, and included 13 fours. Blunt bowled well, getting a nip off tho pitch and breaking the ball nine inches. Ho had done tho majority of tho bowling. Murray and Alexander batted nicely, adding 50 in 34 minutes. With the total 293 South Australia declared the innings closed, having a load of 305 runs. Less than two hours remained for play. Blunt and Crawford opened for New Zealand to the bowling of McKay and Palmer. No effort was made by the batsmen to wipe off the runs. They appeared to bo playing for a draw. Blunt made 33 before Crawford was dismissed, A. Richardson being the bowler. Grimmett came on at the other end, and got Blunt with a leg-before decision. Two wickets had fallen for 38 runs. Tho crowd was becoming excited and 'there were visions of a close finish. Dacro and Oliver stayed together, however, and runs came freely. The century was raised in 63 minutes. Oliver hit Grimmett on to the grandstand roof and a new ball was required. Oliver reached 50 in 47 minutes. The batting was lively, the pair scoring 100 in 55 minutes. A. Richardson’s first over, saw Dacre depart for a well made 40 after a vigorous display. Oliver was smartly stumped off A. Richardson, who bowled excellently. With the dismissal of Oliver play became dull, Lowry and Worker making no attempt to get rune. Lowry, Alloo and Worker were dismissed in quick succession. With ten minutes left Allcott and Patrick played out time, and tho match was drawn. Tho following are tho scores:— SOUTH AUSTRALIA. First innings 351 Second Innings. Parry, st.
