LIVERPOOL HANDICAP. WON BY GRAND KNIGHT. The Manawatu Racing Club’s summer meeting was continued at Awapuni this afternoon in bright sunshine, when the principal event of the day, the Liverpool Handicap, was won by Mr V. Riddiford’s imported horse, Grand Knight, who won the Fitzherbert Handicap on the first day. Of the 10 acceptors for the Liverpool Handicap, White Comet, Royal Diadem and Birthmark were withdrawn, leaving seven runners. The imported horse Grand Knight was made a very hot favourite, 'carrying a third of the investments. On the release of the tapes Tanadees led the field through the straight, Grand Knight, Imperial Spark and Kilceit being next. At the bottom bend the favourite went to the front, attended by Imperial Spark and Tanadees. There was little change in the order going along the back stretch and Grand Knight was still in tlie van on entering the straight, where Imperial Spark and Tanadees challenged, but Grand Knight responded and won nicely by threequarters of a length, a head separating second and third horses.
