RETURN TO SINGLE SEATS,

SYDNEY, Dec. 29. The chief measure for Parliament when it resumes is consideration of the Electoral Bill, seeking to revert to single seats with the “first past ' tho post” system of voting. The Legislative Council previously rejected the latter part, substituting preferential voting. —Press Association.

The Government will not be able to appoint any women to the Legislative Council for some months till the Constitution Amendment Bill lias received Royal assent.—Press Association.
