ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
DROWNING FATALITIES. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 28. While bathing at Ocean Beach on Sunday, Donald McDonald, draper’s assistant, -was caught in the current and drowned. Desmond Harland swam to his rescue and had a hard fight in regaining tho shore. DUNEDIN, Dec. 28. Moana Mantle, aged 20, and Huikai Tipene, aged 18, two Maori lads, were drowned while bathing in the Waikouaiti river on Saturday. The bodies were recovered.
