HOLIDAY FATALITIES. VICTIM IN THE SOUTH. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN ,Dec. 28. Leonard Lefroy Grimshaw, aged 34, of Kaitangata, was drowned near the mouth of the Molyneux river on Saturday. With three companions he was netting flounders. The net caught in a snag and deceased swam out to free it and sank suddenly, supposedly through cramp. The body was recovered yesterday. . YOUNG MAN’S DEATH. AUCKLAND. Dec. 28. Albert Ceal Thompson, a resident of Swanson, aged 21, was drowned while swimming in a creek with two other men. INQUEST AT TIMARU. TIMARU, Dec. 28. At the inquest on the body of an unknown man that was found on the beach on December 25, the medical evidence showed that the body was that of an adult about 5 feet 8 inches in height with no sign of injury prior to death. There was a slight bowing of the left forearm, being due to an old fracture. Deceased’s age was probably between 20 and 30, and evidently lie had not been used to hard work.. Death probably took place from three to six weeks ago. The police evidence showed that there* was a tattoo mark on the right forearm, consisting of a heart pierced with an arrow, with the letters “W. T.” thereon. The shirt bore the name “B. W. Scott.” The inquest was adjourned sine die to enable the police to make further inquiry regarding identification.
