CHESS CONGRESS.

The 35th chess congress commenced this morning with a welcome to the players by Sir William Sim and Mr 0. Balk, the local president. There are 20 contestants, including Crackenthorpe, tho champion in 1924, and Purdy boy champion in 1925, both of New South Wales. Play starts this evening.
