Mr J. Yamasliita, wool buyer for a Japanese firm ol : Yokohama and Kobe, I left Wellington this week, for Sydney. Before sailing Mr Yamasliita stated that after travelling through New Zealand he thought this country wonderful, the scenic beauties of New Zealand comparing more than favourably with those of Japan. The matron of the public hospital acknowledges with thanks the following donations and gifts:—Mrs Mulrooney, £2 2s; Father Doolaghty, £1 Is; Mr G. H. Bennett, books; Mr J. Linklater, M.P., two lambs; Longburn Freezing Works, one lamb ; Mr Follas, one lamb. In to-day’s issue will be found a further advertisement by the Railway Department giving particulars of the altered train arrangements for the holidays. Special trains are provided for the races at Feilding and picnic parties visiting Foxton.
