Reoeived November 9, 10.50 a.m. ADELAIDE, Nov. 9. The strike is collapsing in South Australia. Part of the crew of the steamer Westmoreland were released from gaol and conveyed straight/ to the ship. A number of strikers also returned to the Balranald. —Press Association.
“SCRATCH” CREWS OBTAINED
Received November 9, 10.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 9. Manned by “scratch” crews, three overseas steamers arrived from Australian ports during the week-end. —Press Association. APPLICANTS FOR WORK. REINSTATEMENT SOUGHT. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 9. Twenty-five of the crew of the Dorset applied to the agents this morning for reinstatement. Eleven others have found local employment and do not wish to return to the ship. Tho Port Nicholson sailed at noon for Wanganui.
