BIG CUTS.

ADMIRALTY WIELDS THE AXE

CRUISER, SUBMARINES AND MEN

LONDON, Oct. 28. \ The Admiralty announces that it is scrapping all the “K” class submarines except Jy26. The Admiralty’s economies include the selling of the submarines H2l and G 4, reducing the tenders attached to training bases, abolishing special reserve engineer officers, reducing special reserve Royal marine officers, placing the cruiser Calliope on the reserve, placing one Atlantic destroyer llotilla on reserve, and reducing the complements of ships.. The Daily News says that the Navy won’t be sorrjj to see the last of the K submarines, which were extremely difficult to handle, owing to their great size and complicated machinery. Three were lost during the war.
