The sceno in the house at Kaikorai where the three children named Hart were killed was such that oven the habituated police were disturbed. Tho infant’s head was practically severed, while the two older children were dreadfully gashed. Apparently the demented mother apprised tlio neighbours almost at once.
Her own wounds were so slight that the application of a little iodine sufficed. She showed tho utmost solicitude that the news should be broken quietly to the father, who was away at work.
