DEBTS TO AMERICA.
ITALIAN NEGOTIATIONS.
GOOD PROGRESS MADE.
Received November 7, 1.25 p.m. • WASHINGTON, Nov. 6. President Coolidge has authorised the announcement that good progress is being made with tho Italian debt negotiations and that there is every indication that a settlement can be reached.
President Coolidge is especially pleased with the complete cundour which characterised the negotations. The announcement followed a White House conference with Mr Mellon and Senator Smoot.
Meanwhile the Roumanian Debt Commission of seven members, headed by M. Nicholas Pitulesco, has arrived at Now York and is proceeding to Washington immediately.—A. and N.Z. cable.
