PALACE THEATRE “INTO THE NET.” No picture has ever had such genuine thrills; such authentic action; such real tensity as “Into the Net.” Under supervision of tho New York police, and with their co-operation, real raids were staged. Every branch of the Now York police dedepartment is scon in operation. The department of criminal identification is shown measuring, “mugging” and, fingerprinting criminals; an underground telegraph system, with no exposed wires that can be cut by the crooks, carries messages from headquarters to precinct stations and then to street signal boxes; the riot squad uses tear gas and machine guns; police dogs, waggons, police boats that patrol the harbour to the three-mile limit —all are seen in vivid, thrilling action in “Into the Net. ’ New York is the locale of the story, and this great city that is America’s pride supplies many of its famous scenes for stage settings—Brooklyn Bridge, Riverside Drive, Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street and at Washington Square, Broadway, at Times Square and other places. This great picture is showing at tho Palace Theatre for a limited season of three nights, commencing this evening.

KOSY. - BILL CODY IN “MOCCASINS.” A tale of fresh romance and the triumph of right is being shown just now at the Kosy under the title of “Moccasins,” with Bill Cody and Peggy O’Dare in the principal parts. The picture is not new as to its subject, but it is its treatment and the prowess of the youthful hero that will soon put it amongst the top-liners in Western pictures. Peggy O’Dare has about her a charming personality and a taking vivaciousness that reaches right to tho heart of audiences. A comedy, news and review complete the entertainment. PARAMOUNT. “OLD SWEETHEART OF MINE.” James Whitcomb Riley’s “An Old Sweetheart of Mine,” one of the finest poems ever written, has been made into one of tho most delightful photoplays ever seen. It is now showing at the Paramount Theatre and should prove extremely popular, because it has the irresistible appeal which is in the poem itself. It is the poem, developed and heightened in dramatic power, and transferred to the silver sheet. All the elements which make the , poem so well loved are in Metro photoplay. And the original theme is worked into a rapidly-moving story full of humour, pathos and thrills. It is the type of picture we should have more of. Elliott Dexter and Helen Jerome Eddy deserve the highest praise for their realist portrayals of different roles. Pat Moore, Mary Jane Irving and Turner Savage are charming in tho children’s parts.
