LOCARNO SPIRIT.
APPLICATION TO ECONOMIC RELATIONS 1 . GERMAN CO-OPER ATI ON. Received November 7, 12.10 p.m. PARIS, Nov. 6. The application of tins Locarno spirit to ecconomic relations, and industrial Germany’s intention to cooperate in the economic restoration of Europe were exemplified by the presence for the first time of a German delegation headed bv the banker, Herr Von Mendelssohn, at the half-yearly meeting of the International Chamber of Commerce. Mr Walter Leaf, flic president, in welcoming the German delegates, said that they joined the chamber with an assurance that they intended to participate in its discussions in the spirit of loyal co-operation. Herr Mendelssohn, in reply, emphasised the Germans’ desire to cooperate in working out the great economic problems, especially those relating to interdependence, German Reparation payments, international conditions, exchange, and Germany’s future capacity.—A. and N.Z. cable.
