ARMISTICE DAY.
OBSERVANCE NEXT WEEK. The full text of the communication forwarded to local bodies by the Minister of Internal. Affairs regarding the observance of Armistice Day next week is as follows : “I have the honour to inform you that His Excellency the GovernorGeneral lias received the following cablegram from the Secretary of State lor tile Colonies: ‘His Majesty has approved the following arrangements for the observance in this country of Armistice Day, November 11: (1.) A short service will be held at the Cenotaph on the lines adopted in previous years, including the hymn “O God Our Help in Ages Bast.” His Majesty the King will be present, and will lay a wreath. (2) Two minutes’ silence will he observed at 11 a.m. Local authorities in this country will be asked to arrange for tlie suspension of all vehicular traffic for two minutes from 11 a.m., but rail and water tralfio will not be suspended.’ “In accordance with His Majesty the King’s wishes,' 1 should lie glad if you would kindly make suitable arrangements for your borough.” A copy of the letter was before the Borough Council at tho last meeting, when it was decided to conduct observances.
