WOMEN TEACHERS.
WANT EQUAL RIGHTS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. Tho Education Board discussed a letter from the exeolitive of the New Zealand Educational Institute notifying its intention to test at law the granting of preference to a married teacher or to male married teachers to the disadvantage of women applicants. Mr King suggested a conference between the institutes and boards and expressed the desire to avoid litigation. Mr Snell said that after the ago of twelvej boys required the discipline of a married man. Mrs Eerner suggested that there might bo cases where preference should be given to women teachers. Tile letter was received.
