PERSONAL DETAILS. MR E. P. EEE. Air Ernest Page Lee, the candidate for Oamaru who won back tho seat after being defeated by Mr Macpheisoit at last elect,on ,s o, e<, the best-known members ot the legal nrofession in the Dominion. Mr Lee entered Parliament in 1911, when he defeated the Hon. T. Y Duncan and Mr Robert Mi hgan. In 1914 and again in 1919 he defeated Mi J. A. Alacpherson, the Liberal candidate. In 1920 All- Leo assumed Ministerial rank. He also acted as AttorneyGeneral during tho temporary absence . from New Zealand qI Sir Francis Bell. AIR H. S. S. KYLE. Air H. S. S. Kyle, (the now Reform member for Riccarton) was born in Melbourne in 1873 and was educated at Geelong College. He qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1890, and practised in Ballarat, He afterwards came over to New Zealand and "as appointed a Government veterinarian in 1901. He retired from the Government service in 1918 and has been practising in , Christchurch since IJK. Ho contested the Riccarton seat at the last general election, but was beaten by Air G. Witty by a margin of 23.> votes. Mr Ivyle is Mayor of Riccaiton. AIR T. FORSYTH. Air T. Forsyth, the new Reform member for Wellington East, is a veilknown Wellington citizen. Air 1‘ orsytll has always shown the keenest interest in education, and is still chairman of the Education Board, besides being a member of the Victoria University College Council, Technical College Board of Governors, and chairman ot the Board of Advice, Training College. He was elected to the City Council in 1919, and during his six years of office served on various committees. AIR H. AI. CAAIPBELL. Air Hugh AlcLean Campbell, of Poukawa, Hawke’s Bay, who has been elected the Reform member for Hawke’s Bay, entered Parliament in 1911 at the ago of 42, when he defeated Air lan Simson after a second ballot by 3927 to 2829. In 1919 ho defeated Air G. AlcKay, but in 1923 Air G. AlcKay was elected to the Hawke’s Bay seat. Air H. AI. Campbell, who is a runliolder, has been ’ chairman and • a member of tho Hawke’s Bay County Council. AIR D. S. REID. Air D. S. Reid, displacer of Air F. Lye for tho Waikato seat, is a farmer. He is chairman of the Waikato County Council. AIR E. WALTER. Air E. AYalter, who will take the place in Parliament of Air R. Alasters (Stratford), is a farmer. His interest in public affairs brought him the chairmanship of the Stratford County Council, and during 1923-24 ho was a member of tho district revaluation committee. AIR GORDON ELIOTT. Mr Gordon Eliott, who was born in Wellington and educated in the Terrace School and at Wellington College, is the youngest son of Air Ji. J. HI Eliott, a well-known civil servant, who spent 47 years in tho service of the Government of New Zealand. After six years’ banking experience, he entered the- stock and auctioneering business, and lor the past twenty years has been well-known in the Rangitikei, Alanawatu and Wairarapa disMR C. E. BELLRINGER. Air C. E. Bellringer, who unseated Mr'S. G. Smith, the sitting member for Taranaki, is a member of the firm of' Bellringer Bros., ironmasters, New Plymouth. He was president of the Alethodist Church of New Zealand in 1906, and was appointed a visiting justice of the peace in 1924. He unsuccessfully contested the seat against Air Smith at the last election. SIR JOSEPH WARD. The Right Hon. Sir Joseph Ward, the successful Liberal candidate for Invercargill, made his first venture m national politics when lie won the Awarua seat in 1887. He had a long service in the Seddon Government, as the holder of various portfolios, and upon Air Seddon’s ucath became Prime Aiinister of New Zealand, liolding’offico until 1912, when the country transferred its confidence to the Reform Administration. In the National Cabinet ho held the position of Minister of Finance, in 19f9 ho was defeated for Awarua by Air J. R. Hamilton, and has not been in politics since. AIR H. G. DICKIE. The new member for Ratea, All 1 H. G. Dickie, was born at Patea in 1874 and Inis lived practically ail his life in tile district. He visited England on one 'occasion and during his lour gained some valuable information relating to the dairy and meat industry. Mr Dickie was on active service during the war. AIR V. WAITE. Air Fred Waite, who heat the sitting member for Clutha (Air J.Edie), was horn in 1885, and in 1913 he took up a farm at Waiwcra South. He joined up with the Alain Body, and served as an adjutant in the New Zealand Engineers at Anzae, where lie won the D.S.O. Air Waite organised the Co-operative Dairy Company of Otago, and is at present chairman of directors of the company. He is also .president of the Otago Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and a member of the New Zealand Dominion Executive. AIR J. MASON. Air J. Allison, who defeated the Lab-our-Socialist candidate for Napier (Mr L. ; Mellvride) is a lawyer by profession. He has always taken a great interest in the affairs of the Returned Soldiers' Association, and was associated with tho Repatriation Board. Last election he unsuccessfully contested the Napier seat. AIR H. HOLLAND. Mr H. Holland, C.8.E., winner of the Christchurch North seat, was born in Yorkshire in 1859. Ho was at one time Mayor of Christchurch, and has been closely associated with such.- bodies as the Canterbury Patriotic Fund, AlcLean Institute, Christchurch Fire Board,' Otira Tunnel League, Navy League, Overseas (Huh, Victoria League,' St. John Ambulance, N.Z. Chib, etc. . 'MR, A. At. SAAIUEL. Air Albert AI. Samuel, who unseated Air Poland tor the Ohinemuri seat, was formerly widely known in spoiling circles in Wellington. He was a member oi the Fourth Contingent dispatched to the Boer War. and was a captain in the. Coronation Contingent of 1911. Ho was also a major in the 6th Alounted Rifles. Some years ago ho'-unsuc-cessfully contested tho Hutt seat against Air Wilford.
