THE ROYAL SHOW
BIG DROP IN ENTRIES. ALL SECTIONS SUFFER EXCEPT SHEEP. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. Nov. 3. The complete entries for the Royal Show to be held next week total 3409 as compared with 4574 at last year’s Royal Show. Tho only section of this year’s Royal Show that shows an increase as compared with last year’s is tho sheep section in which there are 445 pioro entries than there were at Palmerston North. The entries in tho horse section are 296 fewer this year, due in a large measuro to the very high number of entries for the competitions at Palmerston North. Cattle entries are 71 fewer this year and pigs are 33 fewer. The dog entries for last year and this year are respectively tho entries for tho Manawatu Kennel Club’s show and tho Canterbury Kennel Club’s show, both of which were run in conjunction with tho Royal show, but actually being separate. The much higher total of entries for last year’s Royal Show is accounted for to a marked degree hv tho totals in classes other than stock.
