Hilmy Pasha lssa, Minister of tho Interior, stated that the object of the political organisation law was to safeguard public security, eliminate harmful societies and organise the jiolitical life of the country. There was no intention whatever to interfere with tiro rightful liberty of the people. All must obey the law, but requests for delay in regard to complying therewith would he generously considered.— A. and N.Z. cable. Consternation lias been created by a Royal decree compelling all jiolitical organisations to make a declaration in regard to their headquarters and membership. A prominent politician has declared that it is a most reactionary step, and one likely to have the gravest results, leading to the reappearance of secret societies.
