She appeared to have recovered from her illness and was about again until just prior to her demise. The late Airs Hearnc was horn ill Foxton and educated at St. Alary’s School and was the possessor of a pleasing disposition which endeared her to a large circle of friends. Deceased was the eldest daughter of Airs and the late Mr G. Gupwell, of Foxton, and leaves a husband to mourn his loss. The interment took place on Saturday, the services at the Church and graveside being conducted by Rev. Father AlcDcimit.— -Foxton correspondent. By the deatli on Saturday, at the ripe age of 95, of Air James Holme AVilliams, of Alilson’s line, New Zealand loses a colonist of many years’ standing. Born in Bristol, England, the deceased gentleman came to the Dominion about 66 years ago and settled in Geraldine, where for many .years he was in business as a merchant. Deceased retired some 25 or .‘lO years ago and after a period of residence in several South Island towns came to the North Island five or six years ago, settling in Shannon. For the past eight or nine months he had been resident in Alilson’s line. Deceased, who was married twice and is survived by his second wife, had no family. In his earlier days he was prominently connected with the Masonic fraternity.
