RIFLE SHOOTING.

McKELVIE CUP FINAL. BULLS THE 1925 HOLDERS. The termination of the season’s competitions conducted by the Manawatu Miniature Riile Association found Linton and Bulls Rifle Clubs on even terms in the McKelvio Cup series, a shoot off to determine the holders of the trophy being thus necessitated. Aivahuri was selected as the neutral range and on Friday night a great struggle found Bulls emerging with the honours by the narrow margin of one point. Early in the match it was evident that the outcome would be in the balance, and when the last two men of the opposing sides fired Linton were but two points behind. Their linal man made a great effort to wrest the honours by registering a possible, but his opponent just failed to emulate him by one point only, thus leaving his club with a bare point advantage. The standard of shooting is revealed by the fact that both teams broke the previous best score returned in this competition during the season. Linton have been the holders of tho trophy for the past two seasons, while Bulls since their entry into the local competitions have proved themselves well worthy of the honour they have attained.
