SPRING SHOW

PUBLIC SCHOOLS DIVISION FURTHER JUDGING RESULTS. Judging of the numerous exhibits in the public schools division in connection with the Spring Show was proceeded with throughout yesterday and during the afternoon Mr G. H. Elliott, judge of mapping, drawing, plasticene modelling, geometrical designs, brushwork ana lettering, - completed his section. Commenting on the work in his section, Mr Elliott regretted to state that, on the whole, it had gone back very much. That statement applied both as to number of entries and the standard of the exhibits, but particularly in regard to the former. Certainly, there were a few good examples of work, but the classes were not on a par with what was seen two or three years ago. One outstanding exhibit was that of Master E. Tapp (Central School), pen and ink drawing in the Standard 6 class. The plasticene modelling as a whole was, however, the best of the primary school work he had judged and was well up to standard. In this section the entries numerically and in point of quality were quite up to expectations. Results are as follow: MAPPING. Standard 3 and 4: Merit cards, Colin .
