THE ROTORUA LAKES.
A PHENOMENAL RISE. SERIOUS ROAD EROSION. WHAKATNE, Oet. 24. Travellers from Rotorua yesterday report a further phenomena! rise in the lakes. Recent rough weather lias caused further serious erosion on the road, particularly around Rotorua, also several slips, making motoring difficult and dangerous. Some telegraph poles are down through undermining, and telegraphic communication with Rotorua by this route is impossible.
