Lilian Harrison, the Argentine swimmer, who twice attempted to swim the Channel in 1924, entered the water at Cape Gris Nez and swam for nine hours. She reached eight miles from Dover, when she abandoned the swim, owing to congestion due to the coldness 'of the water. —A. and N.Z. cable.
