RAIN IN AUSTRALIA.
NORTH GIPPSLANU SUFFERS. TOWN OF ORBOST ISOLATED. MELBOURNE, July 13. Rain is falling with cyclonic intensity over the whole of North Gippslancl. r lhe Tain bo, Alitchell and Snowy Rivers have broken their hanks and inundated miles of country. The town of Orbost is isolated, hut residents were warned by wireless of the approach of the flood waters and removed from the low-lying districts. The railway service is disorganised. Bo far no casualties are reported, although there wore many thrilling rescues. - A fishing party, consisting of three men, left the lakes entrance for Alallacoota in a ketch. They have not since been heard of. —Press Association.
