UNEMPLOYMENT.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Ro this important question brought up by Air H. J. Canton. Air Canton has apparently overlooked the fact that, with a little exertion the Government can start a £7(X>,OOO job in Palmerston North, namely the railway deviation, which would give billets to a large number of men for the next four or five years'. The Chamber of Commerce, the city council, and our local M.P. could take a leaf out of the Levin-Greatford gentlemen’s book and bring the matter under the notice of Mr Coates and his party when they arrive on the 20th July. Air Coates may find time to go down and turn over the first sod ; you can rest assured the unemployed will do the rest?—l am, Lt ' ’ UNEMPLOYED.
