HOSPITAL TELEPHONES
A PATIENT’S SUGGESTION. TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS. HAMILTON, July 9. A suggestion that a telephone with an adjustable cable should be placed in each ward of the Waikato Hospital was. the subject of a letter from an ex-patient to the board. The writer said he was admitted a few days before the floods, and had no opportunity of arranging business matters or of finding out how things were progressing on his property. It \yiVs useless to try to communicate with his employee by post, as the rural service was only a weekly one. The only satisfactory method would have been by telephone, but that was against the hospital rules, although eventually under the exceptional circumstances he had been permitted to do so. The proposal was referred to the finance committee for favourable consideration.
