TOKOMARU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Friday the euchre evenings terminated in a successful function. Mrs Schwass topped the score for the points prize, Mrs Peach coining second and Mrs Stokes third. Mr Walton, as the winner for the season’s games, v.on the men’s points prize, Mr Sehwass coming second and Mr Guy third. Mrs Peach was the successful competitor for the evening’s games, winning nine games out of ten. The men’s first prize was won by Mr Wells, Mr Lampard and Mr George losing the “cut.” The consofaliori prizes in the ladies’ section resulted in six rivals, Mrs J. ft. Kelly, Miss ft. Kelly, Mrs Walton, Mrs Bell, Miss A. Schwass and Miss M. Campbell, Miss B. Kelly being the winner. Mr R. Walden carried off the men’s consolation prize. The next, function will tnlce place in three weeks’ time, and will be in the form of a dance. The School Committee funds have benefited to the extent, of over £7O. Mr R. Guy (chairman) thanked the people for their support, and especially the ladies who had ungrudgingly given their services in the supper room and in other matters. He mentioned the various ways in which llic money was to he spent for the benefit- of the school. After a generous supper had been distributed, dancing was indulged in till 1 a.in.. Mr H. Parr supplying the music. Miss Moody has returned home from the South Island. Miss MacGregor is a visitor here from the south. Mr and Mrs Drake spent a. most enjoyable holiday motoring through to New Plymouth. ilrs Hughes is spending a holiday in Fcikling. At a football match held on the local grounds on Saturday, Tokomaru defeated Moutoa by 9 points to 6.

SANDON. TF. KAWAU SUB-UNION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the management committee of tlie To Kuwau Rugby Sub-Union was held on Thursday evening, Mr J. N. C.Touehor presiding. The chairman gave a brief outline of Hie business done at the conference at Palmerston North regarding amalgamation with Hoiiowlienna, and said the officials in in Palmerston North were alive to the needs of both Oroua and Te Kawau SubUnions, and there was no need to fear the interests of both sub-unions being neglected. Tin- chairman uLo reported on the representative games against Oroua at Palmerston North and Manawalu at Sanson. ft was resolved: That the application from the Hui Mai Club for transfer of T. Lawton, J. Pomurc and A. Simeon from the disbanded Awahuri senior team be granted; that the appeal from United Club and the ruling from Matiawafu Union be held over until next meeting; that an exchange of games, senior and junior, be arranged with Oroua if possible; that an endeavour he made to have the fixture, Oroua v. To Kawau, played on Wednesday of Winter Show week, instead of Thursday; that arrangements for junior representative games with Manawatu and Rangitikei be left in the hands of the chairman.
