MANAWATU HUNT.
The Manawatu Hunt met at Aokautere on Saturday. Despite the heavy rain which had fallen during the week, the paddocks were in iirstrate order, and three good runs were obtained. Mr D. B. McEwen (Deputy Master) on Snowflake was in churgo and the drag was laid by Miss Meads, on Coker’s Chestnut, and Mr Don. Scott on Cossack. Huntsman Waller had a good pack out, and Mr W. H. Oliver, on Gay Willie, officiated as honorary whip. The followers included the largest number of ludies who have yet graced the hunting field behind the Manawatu hounds, and they all gave a good account of themselves. They included: Mrs Sutton, on Pot Luck; Miss Meads, Coker’s Chestnut; My;s Muriel Anderson, Pearl; Miss Phyllis Davison, Peggy O’Neill; Miss Irene Anderson, a bay; Miss M. Davison, Abe; Miss Kttie Anderson, Bonnie; Miss Baker, Chester.
At the conclusion of the hunt, an adjournment was made to the public hall, where the followers and their friends and spectators generally were entertained at afternoon tea by Alesdames Anderson, Gosling and Scott. A hearty r vote of thanks to the hostesses and the property owners, proposed by Mr D. B. McEwen, was carried with acclamation, and was responded to by Mr \V. Anderson.
