SUBURB OF AUCKLAND.
SECTIONS OF ORAKEI. STATEMENT IN PARLIAMENT. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 29. In the House of Representatives this evening Mr Parry raised the question of the manner in which the Government proposed to dispose of the land m the Orakci reserve, near Auckland city. He contended that if tile published statement of the Government's intentions was correct, then poor people, who most needed sections for housing purposes, would not be able to get them. The Hon A. 1). McLeod said that some of the published statements regarding this reserve were not true. What the Government, desired was to place tho land on the market in such a way that the State would not have to hear any loss. His department, estimated that to avoid loss it must bring in at the rate of £llOO per acre. The method of allocating sections had not yet been decided on, but the terms would be as liberal as it, was possible to mako them.
