PROFESSOR’S PREDICTIONS. UNABLE TO BEAR HARDSHIP. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received June 30, 9.55 a.m, LONDON, June 29. “Mankind is speedily approaching the stage when life will ho sustained mentally within by physical power,” writes Professor Low in a new book, entitled “The Future.” He says; “Alan will ultimately be unable to bear the slightest hardship. He will lie forced to remain in dwellings, only venturing into the open after special precautions. A normal day will include such horrors as a radio alarm clock, synthetic felt one-piece suits, and hats always worn because beings will bo hairless, and a loud speaker giving news at the breakfast table, with television glimpses of events. He will always travel in a closed motor car. Shopping will be made efTortlfss by moans of moving pavements and stairways. Communication will be by personal radio with a metal aerial in the headgear, involving talking through the hat. Food will be prepared in communal kitchens.” — Sydney Sun cable.
