BC UTS AT SHOWGROUND. MIDDLEWEIGHT WON BY ANDERSON. At til*; Showgrounds last night, wrestling in he amusement hall attracted a large number of spectators. All the bouts were well contested, the various exponents of Lhe art striving hurd for victory. In the light-weight class, W. Connors beat R. Chapman by two falls, and T. J. Tenner beat J. de Clcene by two falls. The final was won by 'Conner, who beut Connors, securing two falls in two bouts. In (hi middle-weight division, A. Perry beat L. Major by a fall in the third bout, each boi t beinji of five minutes’ duration; A. Anderson beat L. Major on points, and Perry b< at Kearney. In the final, Anderson succeeded in the first bout in bringing Perry to the mat and, securing a three-quarter Nelson hold, obtained a full. The second bout was evenly c infested, Both participants exerting themselves fully. Perry, however, fell a victim to Anderson’s wiles and was after a st 'enuous struggle vanquished by means ol Anderson’s deadly hold. A special match for the A. and P. Association’s special medal, between R. Ranga md Anderson, was drawn, after live boms with no fall.
Mr J. B. Ferguson acted as judge, Mr D. Mumo was time-keeper and Mr A. Bain amouncer.'
