KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting or th©_ ICiwitea County Council was held at Kimbolton when there were present Crs A. T. McLean (chairman), Shannon, Shaw, Brown, Wood, Hair, Stack and D. H. McLean. Or A. E. Pearce was granted leave of absence owing to illness. The Prime Minister wrote inviting tho county to take the necessary steps to open a fund for the Massey memorial. —It was decided to open a list for the fund. 'l'he Hobson County Council advised that they were .supporting the council’s attitude regarding the administration of hospitals, while other County Councils advised they were taking no action in the matter. It was decided that Messrs F. H. Eggers and C. Stent (the two overseers to tho council) be appointed traffic inspedtors in terms of the Motor Lorry Regulations Act, 1925. The council agreed that all owners of motor lorries operating on tho county roads after Juno 26 without a heavy traffic license be prosecuted. A tender of 4s lOd per yard for the delivery of metal from Kimbolton pit and a tender of 2s 6d per yard for river metal from Kiwitca, near Cheltenham cross road, were accepted. - It was decided that the overseers be instructed to plant all vacant corners of roads with pinus insignus or other suitable trees. ...
