’VARSITY TEAM TO TOUR. NEW YORK. May 19. The Oxford and Cambridge tennis team will leave England on July 4th to engage in a scries of matches with American college and club teams. WIN FOR NEW ZEALANDER. LONDON, May 20. Fotheringham, a New Zealander, at Surbiton, defeated Neigclsharpe, I—6, 10 — 8, 6—2, in the second round. Fotheringham successfully introduced slow screw services. Aston and Fotheringham defeated Philcox and Devlin 11 —9, 4 —6. 6 —l, in the first round.—A. and N.Z. cable.
AUSTRIA BEATS IRELAND.
VIENNA. May 19.
By winning three of the first four batches, Austria defeated Ireland in the first round of the Davis Cup, and will meet India in the second round. —A. and N.Z. cable.
