LINTON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The fortnightly euchre party and dance last Friday night again proved a very successful function despite the inclement weather. The prizes for the evening were won by Miss K. Young and Mr G. Wilson. There was a full attendance of members at the Football Club’s weekly meeting on Monday night. Mr G. Alhvright was appointed acting-secretary vice Mr C. _ Sutherland. who is reported to be making fine progress after his recent operation. Members were requested to notify the secretary as early as possible if they were not available for a match and to give assurance that all emergencies would carry their full “kit.” Details were discussed regarding improving the team’s strength and combination und better results should soon be forthcoming. Last week’s match with W’estern United resulted in the worst drubbing the local team has had for a long time. Though badly beaten in all departments, several local playere showed to advantage, particularly the wing forward. .G. W’ilson, who was opposed to last season’s representative winger. Supporters are confidently expecting a better display next Saturday.
