GENERAL COMMITTEE. Tho monthly meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu A. and P. Association was held yesterday, Mr J. H. Pe -rett presiding" over a good attendance of members. Messrs IT. R. Lancaster and B. C. Eglinton, who were taking their seat on the committee for the first time, were accoided a welcome by the president. Both gentlemen briefly replied.

CORRESPONDENCE. From Mrs S ,V. Luxford and family thanking the committeo for its expression of sympathy in the death of Mr Luxford. From the private secretary to the Gov-enror-Geneial stating that His Excellency was pleasec to becomo patron of tho osso ciation ant. thanking the committeo for the report and balunce-sheet furnished. — Received.

From the Town Clerk advising that Crs Oram and Low had been duly elected to represent tiio Borough Council on the association. —deceived. From E. N. Gunsaulus, ex-Consul for tho United States, Wellington, regretting' that he had been unable to pay another visit to Palmerston North before leaving tho Dominion, and stating that he would always have the pleasantest recollections of tho association and its officers. On his return to tho States it would give him great pleasure to convey the association’s message of greeting to Mr D. W. Wilber. —Received.

From Co onel J. Pow, secretary pf the Royal Agricultural Society, stating that a resume of the suggestions received in connection with tho Royal Show would bo shortly forwarded. —'Received. From Hen. W. Nosworthy, Minister of Agriculture, noting that the members of the associai ion endorsed the resolutions passed by lie Otago A. and P. Association respecting tho matter of the establish ment of at agricultural colloge. As the association was aware, the Board of Agriculture was recently asked to report to the Govern nent on the subject of agricultural education, and tho views of the association would be borne in mind when, the report was under consideration. —Re ceived.

From the Manawatu Rugby Union advising that Te Kawau and Oroua SubUnions had agreed to play a representative match at tho Winter Showy, and that endeavours were being made to arrange a curtain-reiser between Palmerston North and Feilding primary school representative teams. —Received.

From the Canterbury A. and P. Association advising that this year’s. Royal Show would be held at Addington on November 11, 12 and 13. —Received. From tho Manawatu Footbull Association advising that the Wellington and Manawatu i epresontative teams would meet on the Friiay of the Winter Show, and that arrangements were being made fora, curtain-raiser, in which the Flock House team would take part. —Received,

GENERAL, A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr K. W. Dalrymple for a donation of £lO toward) forestry classes at the next Winter Show, Mr M. A. Eliott was also thanked for services in connection with the attending to of the Seddon street drain. The presiient reported that the finance committee lad been waited on by a deputation from the Factory Managers’ Association in connection with the holding of (he annual conference, which for rear? had taken place at Palmerston North, but last year was c ranged to Hamilton. The deputation hal stated that their association was onxiors to return to Palmerston North, but were receiving substantial outside inducement. After the deputation had retired a sub-committee had been set up to work with tho local factory managers’ committeo for tho entertainment of visiting factory managers. It was decided to recommend to a special meeting of’ the association that Mr D. W. Wilber he made an honorary life member. The finance committee reported that the Manawatu Boxing Association had been granted the use of tho produce ball at a rental of It's weokly, plus rent, and that that body lad agreed to stage bouts on Tuesday, Jtno 16. Accounts tmounting to £532 Is 7d wero passed for payment. Last year s finance committeo was reelected, as follows: Messrs J. A. Nash, M. A. Conway, H. Y. Lethbridge, T. R. Hodder, A. Sutherland, Jas. Knight, M. A. Eliott, LI. Akers and K. W. Datrymple, wit l tho president and treasurer ex-officio.

The folk wing district members were elected: Messrs H. B. Stuckey (Dannevirke), A. Poidevin (Otaki), J. Duncan (Taihape), /J. G. Lewis (Wanganui), R. D. D. McLsan (Maraekakaho, Hawke’s Bay), and 1. Donald (Wairarapa). Other sub committees and stewards were also elected.
