.A jumble sale will be held in the Congregational Hall. Broadway, to-morrow, when many useful articles may be had at low prices. 'Hie Palmerston North ’ Professional Cycling Club has decided to hold a road race on June 10, the, route being the same as observed on the occasion of the previous race.

The Palmerston North Fire Brigade acknowledges tile receipt of a donation of £1 from Messrs Petersen and Low for services rendered on the occasion of the recent fire at their premises. Rev. Harry Johnson, A.T.G., Moderator of the Congregational Union of New Zealand, will visit this town to-morrow and will lecturo on Congregationalism and “The Ejectment of the Puritans.” Mr Johnson is recognised as one of the best authorities in the history of Congregationalism throughout the 'denominations. Those who are privileged to bo present will be enlightened as to the early traditions of a great historical Church.

In to-day’s issue the Railway Department advertise alterations to the Palmerston North-Foxton train service fromjMonday next. Faster trains are provided. The morning train (daily) from Fioxton connects at Palmerston North with express trains for Wellington, New Plymouth and Napier, and the afternoon train (daily) with express trains for Wellington and Auckland, and train for Wanganui. Train from Auckland arrives at Palmerston North in time tor passengers to connect with the morning train for Foxton, and a train from Puekakariki also connects with this train at Longburn. Passengers from New Plymouth, Wellington 'and Napier express trains are enabled to connect at Palmerston North with the afternoon train (daily) for Foxton. The improved services should be greatly appreciated by users of the Foxton trains.
